You have been abandoned, I know, I feel your pain. You have been neglected, I realise and I am eternally sorry for what I have caused because it has been... 7 months.......7 MONTHS!!!!!!!! I have just been told that in internet terms that means I have died. But this, I tell you all now, is my resurrection for I shall never abandon you again (Not only do I love you all for being so wonderfully eccentric but this doesn't half exercise my typing skills)
News.....I would be lying if I said nothing has happened to me in the last 7 months. The last time I wrote to you I was embarking on a great new adventure and starting a brand spanking new job at Myerscough College and boy did that deliver. I now fortunately wake up of a morning and enjoy going to work...which is a big difference to how I felt before. However since then I have changed jobs and I am now an IT Support Assistant (Shout out to the IT team!) Think of The IT Crowd and that's it in one! Everyday brings new challenges and something different, but I love it. Everyday I feel in the ZONE, like a super hero...yeahhh!
So my little darlings....todays topic, party games!
Children's parties are the best kind of past time and usually make up most of our childhood memories. We think back to our 5th birthday party, our school disco, family parties and adult parties. Time to break it down...
The Birthday Party
Usually spent getting completely hyped out on sweets and sugar, opening too many presents and inviting round all our little friends. I was an older child so I always lead my gang through the years, with youth in my wake it seemed. My best party was when I was 9 and my mum hired a bouncy castle. My primary school friends came round I was told repeatedly to calm down by my mum and when I look back at the photos I can see why- with a beetroot face and messed up hair. There was also animal musical statues- when the music stopped you had to freeze like an animal (A Rachi thought up game, of course) But I just remember it being the best day ever! That and...THERE WAS A BUFFET!!!!
The School Disco
A nerve racking experience in most cases. For girls it is that age when you care how you look and you want the best dress there. I remember mine was red sequins and I had "heels" not so much. Spent largely on the PE benches not dancing and waiting for the boys to ask us....Not so much party, more blind date.... eek!
Family Parties
You know what, these have got to be the best... Family don't mind when it gets to the certain point of the party where you want to be in your pajamas...they don't care because they love you no matter what, 9 o'clock is pajama time and when you get older...the same (I still do it but it is a onesie situation now) That and family don't judge you when you get a little too drunk....but they may inform your mother of any behaviour untoward so watch out, family about!
Adult Parties
And no, I realise how this sounds but I do not mean 'naughty' adult parties involving....well.....you know what they would involve and if you don't...get off this site you are too young!!! I joke of course (But don't lead by my example) I mean those parties you are too young to go too, the ones where you spend it upstairs in your bedroom and on the stairs, listening in to (when you were a wee young one) adult conversations and wondering what the heck they were on about. And peeping through the door to see your parents acting so grownup was strange and alien at first... it was like an insight into adults in their natural habitat.
So there you go there are some parties I know of...why don't you tell me your best childhood parties or your favourite party games by commenting below or email me at rach.oliver@yahoo.co.uk . I would love to hear from you, my little eccentrics. I endeavour to write once a week to you now aswell.
Speak soon
