Edinburgh - A ramblers Travel Guide

So we went a backpacking and we survived! But not without being suspicious of EVERYTHING!
We arrived at the High street Hostel and the first suspicion was of the towel rental. 20p to rent a towel for a night.... My good friend Fox was offered a choice of a lime green bobbly monstrosity or a cream but almost grey, non fluffy, flat towel. SUSPICIOUS.
We dropped our bags off in the communal area and then wandered up 3 flights of stairs searching for the loos. The floors had an uplifting aroma of urine after being freshly mopped and our feet stuck to the black linoleum. We tracked down the toilets only to see the unisex sign present upon the rickety old door. Second SUSPICION.
We escaped and as one of the room doors closed it sounded a eerily, shrill creak...  Fox and I looked at each other, horror in our eyes as we both realised that the door's groan would be the sound we could die to tonight.
We headed out for some fresh, breathable air and for some lunch and returned upon check in time. We were given a security pass and key for our room and everything was seeming brighter. The smell of urine had been replaced by the smell of fresh linen from a can and we were on floor 3 which was carpeted. Our room was called Local Pubs which was fair, a tad quirky but okay we can deal with it. We entered the room, bracing ourselves for the horror that lurked within... suspicious, suspicious, SUSPICIOUSSSSS! *Opened our eyes* It's Okay? IT'S OKAY!!!! The room is OKAY!!!! Basic bunk beds lined the walls to sleep 8 people, clean bedding, secure lockers for our possessions! PHEW!!!
BUT THEN...
One bed was unmade, recently slept in and sheets had been pulled right off... A mad man? restless sleeper? Who knew?..... Mildly SUSPICIOUS!
So we went off into the big city, left our worries and concerns at the hostel along with our valuables safely locked away and everything was going well until a night out, 3am, ready to return home in a safe taxi and a man approached us.... "You travel by Rickshaw, yes?" Errrrh! Not only was this (you guessed) suspicious but he was the only Rickshaw on the street for miles around. We approached with caution.
"Is it safe?"
The Rickshaw man grinned and said "Yes, Yes of course!"
"How much to the hostel?"
"Ten quid," he sniffed.
"Will you kill us?" (A alcohol infused question but one that needed to be asked under the circumstances!)
"Errrrrh, No!" (He hesitated- SUSPICIOUS)

So we ended up travelling by rickshaw, and we thoroughly enjoyed the Zebra blanket over our knees and the thrill of racing through the twinkly Edinburgh streets at night!

The world today is a very suspicious place but sometimes, not always....there is no need to be suspicious because girls sharing a room in a hostel are actually quite nice and rickshaw drivers are amazing cyclists!

"Keep your wits about you....always!"
